Origin Tech Group Wins Award
Origin Tech Group, a leading agricultural value-chain company was awarded the “Best Service Provider” at the Lagos State Farm fair which was organized by the Lagos state Government to celebrate World Food Day.
The international “World Food Day” is an annual event celebrated by the United Nations and across the World on October 16th to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations, Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. The theme for the 2022 celebration is tagged as “Leave No One Behind”.
In line with this, and in recognition of the efforts of the Origin Tech Group in partnering with the State Government to ensure food security and modernizing the food and commodity product market system, the Lagos State Government awarded the company with the “Best Service Provider award.”
The Origin Tech Group through its subsidiaries has partnered with the State Government on tractor acquisition, the Eko Agro-Mechanization scheme, and other various projects, all in a bid to increase the yield of agricultural products in the State.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Director, Origin Tech Group, Mr. Bosun Ososanya who received the award on behalf of the company said, “we are grateful to the State Government for this award. What this means for us is that we should not rest on our oars but continue our mission to continually deliver value to all our stakeholders”.
It will be recalled that earlier this year, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu flagged of the construction of the Lagos State Central Food Securities and Logistics Hub, a project being constructed and managed by the Origin Tech Group.
The Lagos State Central Food Securities and Logistics Hub upon completion will be the largest combined wholesale fresh produce market in Africa that will provide storage, aggregation, repackaging, processing, and distribution of wholesome food.
In his remarks, the Lagos State Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folashade Sherifat Jaji thanked all the participants and organizations who have supported the Lagos State Government in its goals of making agriculture a vibrant sector of the economy and urged them to continue their efforts in ensuring Lagos State becomes a force to reckon with globally.
The World Food Day is championed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and is dedicated to highlighting the millions of people worldwide who cannot afford a healthy diet and the need for regular access to nutritious food.
