Origin Tech Group Partners with Federal Government to Lead Global Consortium for Greener Hope Agricultural Productivity Programme

Origin Tech Group, a global leader in the agricultural value chain, has partnered with the Federal Government of Nigeria to spearhead the Greener Hope Agricultural Productivity Programme. As the lead for a global consortium, Origin Tech Group will oversee the implementation of this initiative and provide machinery support for farmland development and ancillary projects.
The initiative follows the recent declaration of a state of emergency on food security by President Bola Tinubu. This action aims to boost food production, tackle the current high food inflation rate of around 40%, and improve access to arable land, particularly in the northern regions affected by banditry and clashes between herders and farmers.
The partnership addresses the national security implications of the current food crisis, exacerbated by border insecurity, uncontrolled immigration, and smuggling. These factors have heightened the food insecurity index in traditional agricultural states.
The Greener Hope Agricultural Productivity Programme aims to increase food production by over 2 million metric tonnes. This will be achieved by optimizing land use, including brown and green fields and river basins, providing farm machinery, and investing in production and processing to reduce waste. The establishment of large-scale commercial farming hubs utilizing mechanization will drive production optimization and support the strategic goals of the Executive Order on Food Security.
Prince Samuel Joseph Samuel, Chairman of Origin Tech Group, stated, “The Greener Hope Agricultural Productivity Programme is an initiative to expand food production by over 2 million metric tonnes through collaboration with Federal, State, and Local governments and the private sector.”
With a proven track record of successful partnerships, Origin Tech Group will lead the consortium of global partners for this multi-million investment project, financed by the Brazilian Government and Deutsche Bank Group. The initiative aims to establish mechanization hubs nationwide, boosting the agricultural sector’s contribution to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
President Bola Tinubu, during his visit to Minna, Niger State, emphasized the government’s commitment to food security and local industry protection. He highlighted the initiative’s goal to deploy advanced agricultural machinery and technology for enhanced agro-value chain productivity.
For over 25 years, Origin Tech Group has been a market leader, providing innovative, home-grown solutions across various economic sectors, including food systems, automotive, civil engineering, and construction. To learn more, about us, please visit origingroupng.com.
