A Milestone in Strengthening Lagos’ Food Systems as Governor Sanwo-Olu Commissions the MLM Fresh Food Hub, Agege, Developed by Origin Tech Group.

Lagos State recorded another significant milestone in its drive to strengthen food sovereignty and build a more resilient agricultural ecosystem with the commissioning of the Mid-Level Market (MLM) Fresh Food Hub in Agege by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

The landmark facility, designed, developed and delivered by Origin Tech Group for the Lagos State Government, represents a major investment in modern market infrastructure and demonstrates the importance of strategic partnerships in developing sustainable food systems. The project is an offshoot of the bigger-picture, lucidly articulated in the 5 Year Agricultural and Food Systems Roadmap, initiated by the current administration few years back, and with the MLM Agege designed to further enhance the distribution of fresh food and agricultural produce while providing a more organised, efficient, and functional trading environment for farmers, traders, consumers, and other stakeholders across the food value chain, bringing home the Shared Prosperity philosophy of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s led administration.

The commissioning ceremony brought together senior government officials, industry stakeholders, traditional and community leaders, and other distinguished guests to celebrate the completion and delivery of the project. The event also featured vibrant cultural performances that reflected the rich heritage and diversity of Lagos State, adding colour and significance to a ceremony centred on the intersection of infrastructure development, agriculture, food security, and community development.

The major highlight of the occasion was the official commissioning and tape cutting of the MLM Fresh Food Hub, Agege, by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, alongside the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, and the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Lagos State, Abisola Olusanya.

Also in attendance were members of the leadership team of Origin Tech Group, including the Executive Chairman, Prince S. J. The interaction at the newly commissioned facility highlighted its practical purpose: to provide a modern, organized and well-structured environment where agricultural produce can be traded efficiently, while improving the experience of both traders and consumers.
